Jillian Tamaki, a cartoonist and illustrator from CANADA (can I get a whoop! whoop!?) living in New York, is collaborating with Penguin Classics to create the most darling special edition bookcovers to ever grace your bookshelf. Seriously, these babies are gorgeous, beautifully detailed, fun images, and EMBROIDERED! I can't get enough of them. They will be released in October 2011; the printed covers will not be embroidered but printed with embossments. Truly, they are so beautiful and I just had to feature them on today's Vintage Vendredi....Seriously, check out Tamaki's quirky website filled with clever cartoons and keep posted on her collaboration project with Penguin....I can't wait to buy one of these babies. Probably Emma. Or Secret Garden. Or both. Check out the images!
What do you think? Are you as in love with Jillian Tamaki's designs as I am? They remind me so much of Olympia Le-Tan's embroidery clutchs....but I feel like these will be more obtainable ;)
