So this month was an interesting month for me in the way of books. The books I read were:

January was kind of uneventful for the most part, although I did end my 98 Days of Summer Contest and the winner was Sarah, who I have emailed.  Congratulations to Sarah!



As I stated in my new year post I will be changing one thing about my blog every month and this month I will be doing a new thing on Friday's where I just post up some random bits and pieces and try have a bit of fun with that. But there'll be more about that on Friday. But also every so often on these Friday's my friend Scarlett of From The Heart will be blogging instead of me. But there will be more about that when you see her posts.



So what can you expect to see in February?  Well, much of the same bits and pieces as last month but there will be the Friday changes.



For 2010 I've been hoping to do a lot more contests and well I have to say that at this point in time I'm not having any contests in February but I can say without giving away too much that March is my blogoversary so watch out for that.  But for now have a great February!



Also, the January poll closed and it was all about what kind of contests you would prefer.  Most people prefer leaving only details.  Which I can understand.  It's provided some really good feedback for what to do for my next contest so thanks for that.

This past week Celebrities at LAVO! Who?

Wednesday night Nick Carter dined at LAVO inside The Palazzo with his girlfriend and a group of friends. The Backstreet Boy drank Belvedere Bloody Mary cocktails and dined on dishes including Calamari, Tuna Tartare and Chicken Parmagiano.

Also spotted dining, rapper Lil Jon who enjoyed the famed Kobe Meatball and Chicken Marsala.

Carter and Lil Jon both headed upstairs to the nightclub for Label Junkie Wednesday, which featured a fashion show by Haute Chix boutique. Lil Jon drank Patron Silver out of his Bling Bling bottle and at a separate VIP table Carter and friends had Grey Goose and Cranberry cocktails and danced to the sounds of DJ Crooked.

Last week I had a really quiet week in the way of books and this week definitely made up for that.



I got two books in the mail. One that I got as a late Christmas Present which is:

Review: When you Reach Me was quite different to how I thought it would be but I really really liked it.
For starters there was the kind of twist ending that I really like and there were so many little bits and pieces that clicked together that made it so much more enjoyable.
There was a sad part, it wasn't too sad but I thought it was sad enough. But overall, the mood of the book was happy. It was very good.
The characters were all really interesting and some of the things I thought would happen didn't, in other words When You Reach Me was really unpredictable and so many unexpected things happened.
When You Reach Me is really good and if you get the chance to you should definitely check it out because it's very good.

Two weeks later, Favetta was fired for"theft of service." Eric Favetta was in the doghouse.A PetSmart employee since July 2008, Favetta was fired from hisjob at the Secaucus store last month for "theft of service."The alleged "theft" occurred during an overnight shift Favettaworked as a favor to his manager.Favetta brought his dog, Gizmo, to work with him, and the dogstayed in the store's doggie day care facility -- which at thetime was not manned by any other employee -- while Favetta preparedthe store for a special showing to potential business partners."I have always been the type of employee to go the extra mile andmake sure that not only the store was taken care of but that theemployees were taken care of," said Favetta, 31, of Towaco.PetSmart seemed like a perfect fit to Favetta after his nearlyseven-year stint as a dog handler for various military units inAfghanistan and Bahrain. He became operations manager -- basicallyan assistant manager -- at the Wayne store.Favetta said he was charged with helping clean up a messy storewhere business was suffering. "We began to get compliments from our customers, telling us howgreat the store looked and it was a great feeling," he said.In April 2009, the district manager moved Favetta to the Secaucusstore -- a high-traffic, high-profile store that was in disarray.At 5 p.m. on Dec. 15, Favetta was asked to work a specialovernight shift that night to prepare the store for a viewingby representatives for Martha Stewart's company, which wasconsidering adding its product lines to PetSmart. Favetta said yes."I brought my dog with me because I knew if I didn't, he wouldhave been home alone all day and all night until I returned homeat 6 a.m. the next day," Favetta said.He did the shift, and Gizmo, a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois, spentthe night in the empty store's doggie day care facility. Favettasaid he'd check in on Gizmo every 15 minutes or so, and then goback to work.Two weeks later, Favetta was asked to meet with his store anddistrict managers, who requested a written account of hisovernight shift. He complied. They reviewed it and fired himfor "theft of service.""I was shocked," Favetta said. "It makes me sick that becauseI brought my dog to work with me when the store was closed todo the company a favor, I was called a thief and terminated."
