Across the Universe by Beth Revis

    Title: Across the Universe
    Author: Beth Revis
    Published: Razorbill, 2011
    Pages: 398
Summary: Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.

Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone-one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship-tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.

Now Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming. (Taken from Goodreads)

Thoughts: Science fiction, YA, and a sprinkling of romance; not to mention a beautiful cover I simply adore. All things I needed to bring me out of my reading funk.
Across the Universe is one of the best stories I have read in a really long time. Maybe my entire reading life. The whole idea of being on a ship just as Amy and Elder were is such a unique and amazingly awesome idea.
The writing was perfect. I just loved Beth Revis' writing, she is so talented that I wish I could read more by her right now.
I think that Across the Universe is a book that everyone should read at least once. If you are sitting on the fence with this book due to it being a science fiction, I say just read it because this book is amazing for both science fiction and non science fiction fans alike.
