Cheryl Cole has reignited rumours about her friendship with dancer Derek Hough – by flying him over to the UK from America to stay with her.
The 27-year-old X Factor judge begged Hough, 25, to cheer her up after she was lambasted by viewers for giving contestant Wagner a dressing-down on the show.
‘Cheryl has had a tough time, including a few spats with some of the other judges on X Factor,’ says a friend. ‘She feels she needs a little TLC.
‘Derek is always the person she turns to and she called him last week to beg him to come over and see her. He arrives on Tuesday.’
Their close friendship has led many to believe they are more than just good chums.

A best of British banquet for the Royal lovebirds
Prince William's stepbrother Tom Parker Bowles is hoping that Wills and Kate Middleton will opt for a traditional British feast on their big day.
Kate is known to love cooking toad in the hole and food writer Tom said at Mark Hix’s Champagne bar in Selfridges: ‘It will hopefully be a very, very good British feast.
‘If you go to a wedding and get served stuffed chicken breast it’s rubbish. Wedding food should be about yummy, scrumptious food that makes everyone happy.
‘British produce should be celebrated.’

After signing up Victoria Beckham, Range Rover have secured another famous face – singer Solange Knowles, younger sister of Beyonce.
The car company asked Solange to become one of their LA ‘City Shaper’ ambassadors. ‘I jumped at the opportunity like a kid in a candy store,’ said Solange, 24, who nips around LA in her own Range Rover Evoque.
‘I’m so glad I finally have a car that is rap-song worthy!’ Meanwhile, Victoria is busy designing a special-edition Range Rover. ‘It will be a fashionable concept car,’ says a source.

When Vanessa Paradis discovered that boyfriend Johnny Depp was to film an intimate shower scene with Angelina Jolie for the new thriller The Tourist she demanded that it be cut.
Now I can reveal that fiesty Vanessa, 37, is putting her foot down again as Depp, 47, and Jolie, 35, prepare for a publicity trip to New York.
‘Vanessa is planning to travel with them and Johnny has asked for a separate promotion timetable from Angelina, with their Press conferences a day apart,’ says a movie mole.
‘He has also asked to stay in a different hotel.’
Wonder who will be with Johnny on the red carpet . . .

Slumdog Millionaire stars Freida Pinto and Dev Patel have barely seen each other of late because of work – but now the couple plan to enjoy a romantic reunion in India over Christmas.
Freida, 26, has invited Londoner Dev, 20, to spend the festive season with her family in Mumbai. The couple have been dating since last year.
A source said: ‘Dev’s been filming in India. Freida plans to meet up with him when he finishes over the holidays. They plan to spend time with her family. Their schedules have meant they’ve spent a lot of time apart, so she hopes this will get them back on track.’

‘Why would anyone want to do that? Putting up photos of yourself in a bikini is just so tacky. Things should stay private,’ said the 32-year-old star, who plays Betty Draper in the hit show.

Busy newlyweds Katy Perry and Russell Brand are preparing for a six-month separation – because of their hectic work commitments.
The pair, who had relationship counselling before their wedding in October, have bought a £1.8 million penthouse in New York. But because of Katy’s upcoming world tour and Russell’s film-making schedule they won’t be living there together for some time.
‘Katy’s tour starts in December and Russell has a new film project,’ said an insider. ‘She will be travelling all over Europe and then on to Australia and New Zealand
in May.
‘They’re trying to work out how they can snatch some time together in between.’

Madonna’s new movie called WE – about King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson – is scheduled for release in June next year, soon after Prince William marries Kate Middleton. Interest in the Royal Family is sure to be huge but Madonna, 52, wants to steer clear of a premiere in Britain in case of a backlash.
‘Madonna is acutely aware that the storyline is controversial and will be frowned upon by the Royal Family, so she wants to do the launch in Cannes,’ says a friend.

His father is photographer to the stars David Bailey, while his model mother Catherine stripped off for lingerie brand Agent Provocateur aged 46. Now their 16-year-old son Sasha has been snapped up by modelling agency Storm.
‘Modelling will be good for a while, though I’m under no illusions that I’ll have a long career doing it,’ Sasha told me at the Paul Stolper Gallery.
