At twilight, when the students of the Day Class return to their dorm, they cross paths with the Night Class on their way to school. Yuki Cross and Zero Kiryu are the Guardians of the school, protecting the Day Class from the Academy's dark secret: the Night Class is full of vampires!
Yuki Cross has no memory of her past prior to the moment she was saved from a vampire attack ten years ago. She was adopted by the headmaster of Cross Academy, and now works alongside Zero to guard the Academy's secret. Yuki believes the vampires and humans can coexist peacefully, but her partner has different ideas...Review: At first I was really apprehensive about actually reading this because it was recommended to me by a friend and I am not really a fan of manga so much and I had no idea what this was about. So basically, I started to read this so I could finish it.
I'm actually really glad that I did get to read it because it is really good. At first I was a little confused as to what was going on but as I got used to the illustrations I actually found it to be quite an enjoyable read. It was an interesting take on the vampire genre and reminded me a little bit of the Evernight books by Claudia Gray.
The illustrations were all really interesting and while I at first found them a little confusing they did get easier to look at.
Also, there was a little bit of a twist in the story which I liked and thought it was really cool.
Overall, I really enjoyed Vampire Knight Volume One and I am glad that I made myself read it because now I will definitely be looking out for volume 2.
