For Body Image and Self Perception week I have decided to write a discussion post about body image and self perception and how I feel about it.
A lot of insecurities that people have tend to stem from what someone at some point has noticed about us. So let me first talk about self perception and how others perceive us.
For starters, I considered myself to have medium brown hair, average height and average weight, I know that my skin isn't the clearest and I do try to clear it up. I know that I'm incredibly shy and quiet. I'm a little different to others around me in the sense that I have different interests and don't really care what other people think of me. But I still am happy with who I am. I think that being happy with yourself is the best thing to do.
I can honestly say that the above statement is how I see myself. Which is different to some other people.
For instance, these days I am constantly getting teased about being short, I kind of dismiss it because I have never ever considered myself short. But, apparently according to some people I am short.
Other people harass me about being skinny. They put the two together and call me tiny. It makes me feel really self conscious about things and I end up wearing really loose fitting clothing so that I can't be picked on.
My point about all this though, is no matter what you look like or how you act there are always going to be people who judge you about things. They will even criticize you. It's something that is common. At the end of the day you have to out your head up, be happy with who you are and not let anyone get you down. I know that nobody is perfect, therefore nobody has any right to make others feel bad.Source URL: https://free1image.blogspot.com/2010/07/my-own-body-image-and-self-perception.html
