M Resort Spa Casino Celebrates Hannukkah with Menorah Lighting today at 4 P.M.
A giant indoor menorah lighting will be held at the M Resort Spa Casino to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, the “Festival of Lights” on
Wednesday, Dec. 1. The community is invited to come together to mark this 8-day Jewish holiday. One light is kindled on the first night of the festival and an additional light is added on each of the successive seven nights. An extra light, called the “shamash,” which means “guard” is used to light all the other lights on the menorah.
Children will receive chocolate coins and toy dreidels at the lighting.
The community is also invited to bring non-perishable food items to the lighting. The items will be donated to Jewish Family Services, a local charitable organization with a number of programs designed to support those in need including a food pantry, which provides nutritious food and hygiene products to more than 19,000 individuals in Clark County including the elderly, families and homeless adults and adolescents.
Assistant Rabbi Zukrow of Congregation Ner Tamid will lead the lighting and prayer.
The menorah will be displayed from Wednesday, the start of Hanukkah, to its end on Thursday, Dec. 9
