Review: I had heard a lot of different things about Book of a Thousand Days so when I picked it up I wasn't sure what to expect. I'd been told that this was a vampire book but as you can see from the description there is no mention of vampires. And no, this book doesn't have vampires.
I would say Book of a Thousand Days is like a fairy tale, and upon doing research I discovered that it is indeed based upon the fairy tale named Maid Maleen. Of which I'm not familiar. But luckily I'm not here to talk about Maid Maleen.
I really liked Dashti, she was very clear-headed and I just happened to like her a lot. I felt that because she was the narrator she was the most developed character. I didn't really think much of the other characters except I thought Tegus seemed alright.
There was one surprise there. I thought it was quite an interesting surprise. I won't give anything away though.
Another thing that I really loved about Book of a Thousand Days was that it was a fantasy book and set in another world. It was so cool.
If you like books based on fairy tales you will definitely love Book of a Thousand Days. Check it out if you ever get the chance.
