It's winter break at St. Vladimir's, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy's crawling with Guardians—including Rose's hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn't bad enough, Rose's tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason's got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa's head while she's making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy's not taking any risks… This year, St. Vlad's annual holiday ski trip is mandatory. (Taken from Goodreads)

Review: I wasn’t sure what to expect with the second book in the Vampire Academy series but I really liked the first book so I had a good feeling about Frostbite.  I wasn’t wrong about it being as good as the first book because it was just as good.

I love Rose, she’s just an awesome character and I love that she doesn’t take any crap from anyone.  Throughout Frostbite I was hoping and hoping that something would happen between her and Dimitri however.  Dimitri is just as awesome as Rose and I think the two of them make the whole book all that more appealing.

Frostbite didn’t feature Lissa so much but that was alright because I’m more of a Rose fan than Lissa but I still find her abilities really interesting and I look forward to reading more about that.  I also think that her and Christian are a good couple and I look forward to reading more about the two of them.

I love the Vampire Academy series and I think that it’s a really fresh, great way to portray vampires and I was starting to get a little over vampire books but Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy is just too good to miss.
Frostbite is an awesome follow up to Vampire Academy and I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of vampires, forbidden romances and just generally fantastic writing.
