Title: So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish
Author: Douglas Adams
Published: Pocket, 1991
Pages: 204
Series: Book 4, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
First Line: "Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun."
Summary: Arthur Dent is out of his bathrobe, in love, and wondering why the dolphins said...So Long and Thanks for All the Fish. Was the earth really demolished? Why did all the dolphins disappear? What is God's final message to His creatures? Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect, and the new voivoid gang are off (by commercial airline) on a wacked-out quest to answer these truly unimportant questions.
Review: I liked the first three books in the series and while I thought the third one wasn’t the best I decided I was going to read this, the fourth book in the series. For me personally, I thought this one was alright. Mostly because it introduced elements that I don’t particularly enjoy in books. In other words it contained some more adult themes that I tend to try and avoid reading about.

Other than that, the book was fine. I thought the story line was quite interesting because it was quite different to the first three. It introduced a new character as well, who turned out to be quite intriguing indeed. It was also good to see a few familiar faces even if it wasn’t all of the characters that appeared in the previous books.
While I only got one or two laughs out of So Long and Thanks for all the Fish I thought that the story line was interesting enough that I would recommend this one to people. Just don’t expect it to be too much like the first three because it is quite different. But it’s different in a good way.
