Monday's Musical Muses

Leslie Feist, professionally known as Feist is a singer-songwriter hailing from Nova Scotia in Canada. She has performed as a solo artist since recording her first album in 2003 and is also a member of the band, Broken Social Scene. Feist has a long history of being involved in music beginning as lead singer of a punk band in Calgary, than as guitarist in another band, and participating in collaborations with Peaches (her once roommate - how cool is that!?). Her fun-loving, yet calming pop sound is always a pleasure to listen to and never gets old. Feist's first album Let it Die in 2003 is a fabulous example of this and in 2006, she released Open Season, a fabulous remix ablum based on Let it Die with the help of other artists such as Peaches, Gonzales, the Postal Service, and k-os. If you haven't heard any Feist before, check out the song Mushaboom. You will be in complete awe of its adorableness - the video is the cutest thing ever! Especially the toast flying away! In 2007, Feist released her third album, The Reminder, and it was a huge hit! The entire album is so beautiful, poppy/uber catchy, and the lyrics are fabulous. Listen to My Moon My Man, Sealion, 1234, and Brandy Alexander. So beautiful. She has a real talent for original music videos, I love watching them on repeat. Also, I'm completely obsessed, my ringtone has been My Moon My Man since 2008...
