Title: Blessed
Author: Cynthia Leitich Smith
Published: Candlewick Press, 2011
Pages: 480
Series: Book 3, Tantalize
Summary: Quincie P. Morris, teen restaurateuse and neophyte vampire, is in the fight of her life -- or undeath. Even as she adjusts to her new appetites, she must clear her best friend and true love, the hybrid werewolf Kieren, of murder charges; thwart the apocalyptic ambitions of Bradley Sanguini, the seductive vampire-chef who "blessed" her; and keep her dead parents’ restaurant up and running. She hires a more homespun chef and adds the preternaturally beautiful Zachary to her wait staff. But with hundreds of new vampires on the rise and Bradley off assuming the powers of Dracula Prime, Zachary soon reveals his true nature -- and a flaming sword -- and they hit the road to staunch the bloodshed before it’s too late. Even if they save the world, will there be time left to salvage Quincie’s soul? (Taken from Goodreads)
Review: Blessed is the third and final book in the Tantalize series by Cynthia Leitich Smith. It combines the previous two and ties up both Qunicie and Zachary's stories.
Having just read the other two books in the series I can say that this one had a couple of inconsistencies that confused me slightly. Just because both books ended in a way that set up for this one and then at the end of this one some of the things just weren't tied up or explained. I'm wondering whether we are supposed to make some assumptions at what happened later or if there is actually going to be another book in the series.
Kieren has to be my favourite character ever! I just thought he was a fantastic character in both Blessed and Tantalize and I kind of wish that we had his perspective in the book because that would be fantastic.
I still didn't learn very much about Quincie. I thought she came across as very emotionless at times in this book and I wonder if that was how she was supposed to be.
Either way, Blessed is a nice enough sequel to both Tantalize and Eternal. I think that Blessed is a good addition to any vampire fans collection.Source URL: https://free1image.blogspot.com/2011/02/blessed-by-cynthia-leitich-smith.html
