I have my receipt number. And I am trying to get a hod of my case folder from th company lawyer.

The change of status would have been effective in october. You do not need to inform USCIS until september. As a matter for your benefit, avoid it telling to USCIS until september. Check with previous company's lawyer if they applied change in status. The attorney will tell you that. I-94 that comes with H1 status change, and is your property and you can demand that from the company. If they do not cooperate, inform USCIS anyway.

Even though receipts are generated based on received date, I assume they will process by priority date , if not what is use of priority date after filing I-485?

Does this apply only for ppl who have filed between July 2nd and July 17th.?? How about for people who have filed & filing between July 17th thru Aug 17th? Wud the same rule applies to them too? Any inputs on this?
Many of the law-firms including mine are just filing 485 not EAD & AP. If this rule is for everyone I'll apply EAD and AP myself after I receive proof of delivery from my attorney.

I have my H1 B extension approved for 1 year after 6 years time frame, based on approved I140. Now there is another start up company is giving me full time job. So they will ask for at least 3 years of extension. What are the chances that I will get 3 years extension based on existing I140?

I agree with the monetary clout aspect of the argument and would participate in such an effort. I also feel we have to initiate high visibility events on the lines of the DC event. Two suggestions I would like to float,
(1) Can state chapter memberships be made paid for with annual memberships. There are efforts to channelize information through the state chapters (and rightly so) - there could be others such benefits that can be made available in due course.
(2) Can we extend/magnify the entrepreneural theme of IV (beyond a discussion thread) by having a substantial program dedicated to the entrepreneurship aspirations of a good number of IV members - have a business plan competition amongst members, garner support of successful immigrant entrepreneurs as part of the program, have webinars to educate legal aspects and barriers faced (due to our limbo). In essence, make visible the entrepreneural potential locked. Also, it might help transform our image from job takers to job creators. We can partner with other entrepreneural support organizations to fund the program. If we can execute a truly great Business Plan competition and attract venture capital funds we can have certain percentage of venture funding go to IV. If IV members and core think that this suggestion has some merit, I can help evaluate/extend/shape the idea with other like minded individuals.

For any reasonable immigration reform to pass, politicians need an urgency to act. That urgency comes only from an imminent threat to their sitting offices - beyond party lines.
People who are stuck in the immigration process should do a better job in uniting and in working with registered voters so that the issue of immigration reform is a concern for any incumbent elected official.
No one approach is perfect but undocumented workers do a better job in connecting with their community and letting their voices heard than so called "skilled immigrant" community. Our silence makes CIR amnesty and will be dead on arrival.

I think there is another option too. If she can get in touch with a hospital here, she can come directly for fellowship after which she will have to practice within the same hospital. Some specialties like Radiology and Pathology give you unrestricted license to practice anywhere in US after putting up with the fellowship for certain number of years (5 years in case of radiology). Please check this fellowship option with others who might be more knowledgeable.

Dhundhun, If you saved a copy of mailed check, Please look for any technical errors like amount in words/figures . Also check for whom it was written ( They demand it to be written for: US Department of Homeland Security) not abbreviations DHS or so.
Duplicate filing may be okay but may involve stop payment of check n withdrawal of 'right' application -- may create a kinda confusion if it is already in process missing on-line updates. Unfortunately, we are always on the receiving end..
BTW: mine was delivered at Phoenix,AZ on 4/12, checks cashed on 4/23 and I received RN yesterday, it is late but most are getting in 2-3 wks time.

Your H-1B stays valid for as long as it is approved, even if you enter using AP.
If you enter with AP, you become a parolee (based on the fact that you get an I-94 with parolee status on it). Then you resume your work with the H-1B employer. After few months, for some reason your I-485 gets denied. Do you become out of status since your status was parolee?

My wife had Henna on her hand when she went for her FP. The officer asked her did not take her finger prints and asked her to send that letter to their office by mail for re-scheduling the appointment. She sent the letter and got another appointment within 40 days. No problems in the second appearance.
