Review: I enjoyed Kith, there was a massive cliffhanger at the end of Kin and so I couldn't wait to read the next book in the series. I have to say though, while the cliffhanger was resolved I just didn't enjoy Kith as much as Kin.





The characters were all interesting in their own ways but they were all massively selfish. I just found it to be quite confusing at parts.





The illustrations were really cool, I loved the pictures of the fey creatures, they're so wicked and dark and creepy.  It definitely added to the atmosphere of the book.





The story itself was pretty good, it was one redeeming feature of the book.  I think that the only part that really let me down about this book was the characters.  But I really loved the story line it was a good read. The ending was quite good, it left an opening for more.





Overall, Kith was pretty good.  I would suggest reading the first book, Kin, before this one though.  I'm interested in this series so I look forward to the next book, Kind.

Review: Dark Days picks up pretty much where the first book finished. So that was one thing I really liked, because it had the last two pages of the first book as a starting point.  It was good because once it had done that there were no more flashbacks or dwelling on the previous story because from there on it was moving forwards all the way.





I think I liked this one better than the first because there was more of a story and not just guessing in it.  It had more character development too, which I don't usually go for but this time I really liked it because it gave the book substance.





The illustrations were all really good although sometimes I thought some of the people looked the same as others so it was hard to tell who was who.





I think the best part of the book was the ending.  It was just really really awesome.  I'll be interested to see what comes next.





I'll be really interested in seeing what the third book is like.  But Dark Days is definitely a good graphic novel to read if you like vampires.  Just make sure you read the first book first.

Review: 30 Days of Night is an interesting graphic novel.  It is about vampires and for me thats something good because I do like my vampires.  These vampires are the usual vampires, in other words they don't like humans, to them a human is food and that is all.





As far as the pictures go, I thought they were very different to the usual images you get in graphic novels.  They're drawn in a really different way.  But they're quite good.  Not unlike the cover image.  I do have one warning word and that is that seeing as how this is a graphic novel and it's about vampires, some of the pictures are pretty graphic.  So if you don't like pictures like that 30 Days of Night probably isn't your kind of book.





To be honest I found 30 Days of Night lacking in substance, there wasn't much to it at all.  I knew what was going on because I'd seen the movie before but if you haven't seen the movie before you read this, you might get a bit confused.  The whole story flies past and it doesn't take long to finish.





If you like graphic novels and you like vampires then you may like 30 Days of Night.  This is only the first book in the series so it's not a stand alone.  I know I'll be picking up the next one in the series.
