Shoe Splurge Saturday

Sparkly Source

Oh, Saturday mornings. I just drove to Ottawa yesterday (a mere 15 hrs) where I'll be for the summer on internship! Yay! I'm so excited to be in another city. Today will consist of MAJOR unpacking and wondering around to find nutrients :) Because of that, today's Shoe Splurge will be inspired by cutie walking shoes. Enjoy!

Pretty Little Liars: Emily Inspiration

Sparkly Source

For this week's edition of Pretty Little Liars Inspiration, I thought I'd showcase Emily Fields, the typical Girl-Next-Door who has some secrets of her own that she's hiding from her friends and family. I'll begin with showing some pictures of Shay Mitchell as Emily in her sporty-casual style; she always looks like she just jumped out of an American Eagle advertisement!

Most of Emily's clothes I was able to find at American Eagle. Seriously, it seems like a lot of her closet items are staples from AE: the striped tee, demin skirts, jean jacket, side bag, and jewelry. It was a lot of fun to find some Emily outfits, and most of her outfits can be recreated almost exactly. For Emily's staple wardrobe pieces I included a jean jacket and side bag - don't forget the Lululemon bag hehe - and of course her LBFD (little black funeral dress). Enjoy!

Pretty Little Liars: Spencer Inspiration

Sparkly Source

Did everyone watch the show's premiere last week?! [p.s. I haven't seen this week's...so no spoilers!] It was interesting, but I think overall I was kind of disappointed. I mean waiting for so long built up a lot of anticipation! And I wasn't impressed with Aria's clothes (booo). I read somewhere that the stylist for the show was going to stop modifying and altering Aria's clothes and begin dressing her more mainstream. Too bad, her unique outfits were something interesting to look forward to! Anyway, this post isn't about Aria! It's about Spencer: a no-nonsense, straight-A student, and overall goal-oriented, preppy gal who's clothing dictates her personality and family background.  Here's some pics of her outfits, so you can get a sense of what Spencer (played by Troian Bellisario) is all about!

I find most of Spencer's outfits very structured and academic; she is usually wearing lots of blouses, jackets, cardigans, pants, and oxfords. A lot of the time, Spencer is seen rocking the nautical look which looks fantastic on her. Most of the time, Spencer seems like she jumped out of Jenna Lyons' closet!! So, of course I had a lot of fun making up outfits for her. I've included some of Spencer's staple items like a schoolboy blazer and oxfords. And of course her black funeral dress ;) Enjoy!

Terrific TOMS

So I've been looking for a new pair of shoes for next summer to replace my old etnies which now have a hole in the right toe area.....I know, embarrassing! And last summer I started noticing the TOMS shoes around, a lot. Eventually I went online to take a glance and was amazed at how many different colors and fabrics are available. This unforuntatley makes choosing one particularly difficult, so I'm posting all the ones I'm currently lusting after. Also, I particularly like the TOMS charity: they donate one new pair of shoes to a child in need when you purchase one of their shoes. What a fantastic idea! Gives me a even better excuse to pick up a pair. Enjoy!

Top 10: Ruffles & Sequins

Things that are covered in ruffles and sequins have always made me happy, I'm not sure exactly why but I'm positive it has something to do with the texture and the sparkle. Therefore, I thought it would be appropriate to have my first posting highlight some of the ruffly and sparkly things that are making me giddy these days. Enjoy!
