Killer by Sara Shepard

    Title: Killer

    Author: Sara Shepard

Published: New York : HarperTeen, c2009

    Pages: 321

Series: Book 6, Pretty Little Liars

Snippet:"The person's face was covered by a huge hood."

Summary: May contain spoilers! Former best friends Emily, Aria, Hanna, and Spencer continue to live in fear as they struggle to keep hidden even more secrets and someone new begins stalking them via their cell phones. (Taken from Christchurch City Libraries Website)

Review: Oh my goodness! Cliffhanger ending anybody. Killer has to be the most intense book in the Pretty Little Liars so far. Ugh I just wish I had the last two books with me.

Without giving too much away, there was so much mystery  going on. Like, what is up with A? All of this suspense is driving me crazy, I JUST HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

I have just one little thing to say about Spencer, oh man I just feel like telling her that she is crazy. I just feel so bad for her and yeah. We'll leave it there.

Killer is a reminder of why I love to read and why I love mystery and suspense books.  If you have not read Killer or any of the Pretty Little Liars then you should definitely now.  I know the covers don't look like much but really the story and plot is so in-depth and amazing you can't help but get sucked in.

Flawless by Sara Shepard

    Title: Flawless

    Author: Sara Shepard

Published: New York : HarperTeen, 2007

    Pages: 272

Series: Book 2, Pretty  Little Liars

Snippet: "It's not over until I say it is."

Summary: The four bad girls at the heart of the Pretty Little Liars series are no strangers to trouble. Now in this second title, someone named A is taunting them with words that could bury the girls alive with the truth.

Review: After reading the first book in the Pretty Little Liars series I was interested.  After reading the second book, Flawless I am addicted.  Flawless was just as great as Pretty Little Liars.

There was so much to it.  Suspense, action, mystery, drama.  It's like a tv series in book form, which it kind of is anyway.

I love how you find out one secret but then there are openings and hints at even more secrets that are needed to be unearthed.  I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.

There was one character that I was starting to absolutely love, until the end...

My only complaint is that it has left me wanting more.  The Pretty Little Liars series is a series not to be missed!

Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard

    Title: Pretty Little Liars
    Author: Sara Shepard
Published: New York : HarperTempest, c2006
    Pages: 286
Series: Book 1, Pretty Little Liars
Snippet: "I'm still here bitches. And I know everything. -A."
Summary: Everyone has something to hide- especially high school juniors Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna. Spencer covets her sister's boyfriend. Aria's fantasizing about her English teacher. Emily's crushing on the new girl at school. Hanna uses some ugly tricks to stay beautiful. But they've all kept an even bigger secret since their friend Alison vanished. How do I know? Because I know everything about the bad girls they were, the naughty girls they are, and all the dirty secrets they've kept. And guess what? I'm telling.
Review: I wasn't really sure if Pretty Little Liars would be my type of book at first but it sounded really interesting so I gave it a go and all I can say is that I found myself quite addicted.
I was flicking through this book quite fast because I really wanted to know more about all the girls and I wanted to know more about Alison's disappearance and who the elusive A is.
While there was one resolve that opened up more questions I find myself wondering just what is going to happen next.
There's not a lot I have to say about Pretty Little Liars other than it was a very exciting start to what I hope will be a great series and I cannot wait to read the next book.

The Compound by S.A Bodeen

    Title: The Compound
    Author: S. A. Bodeen
Published: New York : Feiwel and Friends, 2008
    Pages: 248
Snippet: "An echoing, resounding boom that slashed my nine-year old heart in two. My fists beat on the door. I bawled. The screaming left me hoarse and my feet hurt."
Summary: Eli and his family have lived in the Compound for six years. The world they knew is gone. Eli’s father built the Compound to keep them safe. Now, they can’t get out. He won’t let them.
Review: The Compound is such an amazing book. I really love books about people hiding out or being trapped within places like towers etc. When I began to read The Compound I thought it would resemble The Host by Stephenie Meyer only, without the aliens. But nope, The Compound is nothing like The Host.
I loved the descriptions of The Compound. S.A. Bodeen described scenes so well. It was almost like I was in The Compound with Eli and his family.
Another thing I loved about The Compound is that it is highly suspensful. You think you know what is going on and then more layers are pulled back and more secrets are revealed. There are so many twists and turns that it is so amazing. I found myself sitting down and reading the entire book because I just wanted to know more and more about what was happening.
I really liked the ending. It left an opening for a sequel but I don't think there will be a sequel. It was an effective ending.
I would say that The Compound is a very very unique and highly entertaining book. I would say you should definitely check it out because it is such a great book.

Avalon High by Meg Cabot

    Title: Avalon High
    Author: Meg Cabot
Published: New York : HarperCollins, c2006
    Pages: 288
Summary: Having moved to Annapolis, Maryland, with her medievalist parents, high school junior Ellie enrolls at Avalon High School where several students may or may not be reincarnations of King Arthur and his court.
Review: I am a huge fantasy fan and when I read the description for Avalon High a couple of months ago I knew that I would love it. And now that I have finally read it I can definitely say that yes I definitely did enjoy reading Avalon High.
I loved how this book had little bits of poem at the beginning of chapters. They drew me into the story even more.
There's a manga series that continues on from where this book ended and I've read the first two. I would suggest reading this book first because the manga lets you know everything that happens in this book.
I thought there would be more fantasy involved but I still liked Avalon High enough.
I liked Ellie and Will because they both liked to just think and thats what I like to do sometimes so it kind of made them more relatable characters to me.
I felt the ending was quite a good one and I do admit it left an opening for a sequel which there is in the form of manga.
