Pretty Little Liars: Alison Inspiration

Did you think that my PLL inspirations were going to stop at the just the four main characters?! Well I'm not done just yet! For this week's edition of Pretty Little Liars Inspiration, I thought I'd showcase Alison DiLaurentis, the official Queen Bee and Mean Girl of her high school who mysteriously disappeared a year ago. In order for you to get an idea of Alison's  (played by Sasha Pieterse) style which is depicted in the show through the girls' flashback memories, I've posted a few pics that represent her wardrobe staples.

One word perfectly describes Alison's wardrobe style: PINK! The majority of Alison's clothes are pink and involve ruffles. She always looks put together and her beautiful flowing hair makes it hard to not stare at her. I'm not going to go as far into detail as the first PLLs, especially since Alison isn't featured as often.  Enjoy!

Monday's Musical Muses

We might know Zooey Deschanel   from the big screen, in the movies Elf, Yes Man, and  (500) Days of Summer, but did you also know she is in a band?! Well if you saw Elf than you know she can sing! Zooey is a actress and singer-songwriter from California, who teamed up with M. Ward to create an indie band, She & Him, which released their first album in 2008, Volume One. Volume One recieved positive reviews and became quite popular, especially with the help of music videos in collaboration with (500) Days of Summer. Volume Two was released in 2010 and also recieved positive reviews and the duo gained an instant following. Zooey does the singing, writes the lyrics, and plays piano and ukulele, while M. Ward provides the guitar and production. Together, they have created songs that sound like sunny-day pop songs with a throw back to 50s and 60s vintage. I have really enjoyed the songs Why Do You Let Me Stay Here and In the Sun. Check them out! Did I mention there is dancing in In the Sun music video?!:) Also, did I mention she married Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie?! She did. NOT Hunter Burgan *phewf!*

Zooey's vintage voice matches her vintage style perfectly: the girl is always spotted wearing floral dresses, mary-jane heels, tights, cute headbands or bows, and adorable coats. In (500) Days of Summer, Zooey's character Summer Finn was always portrayed wearing a blue outfit. This explains exactly why I love her clothes so much! Pretty Little Liars: Aria Inspiration

This summer I became totally obsessed with the TV show Pretty Little Liars. I'm loving the characters, suspense, boy drama, and of course the wardrobe. Aria Montgomery's 'boho-chic meets edgy-rockstar' style is my favorite on the show so far, so I thought I'd do a post with some outfits inspired by Aria. But first I'll post some pictures of Lucy Hale as Aria to showcase her style.

I was able to find the same tote as seen on the show - only it is in ivory instead of burgundy. Aria's closet includes a lot of dresses with interesting tights, floral patterns mixed with studs, unique jewelry, and vintage-style pieces. I included some of Aria's staple items such as a leather jacket and the Urban Outfitters tote... and what would the Pretty Little Liar be without her black funeral dress? or cellphone?! Enjoy!
